Sales Representative
If you are looking for an opportunity to work with a fast-paced education company, have a passion for bringing game-changing education solutions to early childhood education and an eagerness to be part of improving educational experiences we have an opportunity for you. Cognitive ToyBox is looking for a flexible and versatile Sales Representative to lead our sales efforts in Head Start and PreK programs and to help the company to achieve profitability. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced work environment and enjoys wearing multiple hats. In a past life, you may have been a teacher, a consultant, or worked in sales at another edtech/tech company. A typical day may include developing your presentation deck for an upcoming conference for 200+ educators, demoing the product during a prospective customer’s weekly teacher meeting, and meeting a Head Start Executive Director to understand their expansion plans in the upcoming school year.
The principal accountability of the Sales Representative is to implement our sales plan, follow-up on marketing leads, drive inbound sales channels, work within the CRM, and close business.

Primary Responsibilities include:
- Implement overall sales plan to help meet or exceed target sales goals
- Respond effectively to potential customer inquiries regarding the identification of needs, pricing, process, and delivery
- Accurately record outbound calls, activities and results, opportunities, manage leads, additional contacts, and other details as required in the company CRM system
- Set up virtual or occasionally in person exhibits demonstrating products and following up on sales leads
- Establish trust-based relationships with prospective customers and key stakeholders, especially at the Administrator level
- Regularly conduct web demonstrations of the company’s products to educators at the school and district level
- Follow-up on all leads in a timely manner
Job Requirements:
- 7+ years in the industry with sales
- Experience working with Head Start and PreK programs
- Demonstrated ability to achieve return on sales
- Ability to work autonomously and create frameworks within the sales process
- Demonstrated expertise in connecting sales projections to CRM activities
- Ability to travel an average of three times per year out of state
- Possessing a rolodex of key account relationships is a plus
Salary Range: $65-85K base + commission

Backend Developer
We are seeking our first backend developer to support our mission in helping every child start school ready to succeed. The backend developer would work closely with our game developer and our CTO to build best-in-class edtech tools to make early childhood teachers’ lives easier and help the youngest learners thrive.
Primary responsibilities include:
- Evaluating, optimizing and maintaining our database architecture and systems
- Extending our web backend and web APIs for our core assessment product
- Supporting our data science efforts through data pulls and bulk report iteration and automation
Job Requirements:
- 3 years comparable experience in software development with Programming languages or Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or related field
- Proficient in: Python, SQL/PostgreSQL and database design principles
- Familiarity designing, implementing and/or integrating REST APIs
- Familiarity with AWS services: Lambda, API Gateway
Preferred Skills
- Familiarity with AWS serverless services, OAuth
- Familiarity with frontend Web Application Development (HTML/CSS/React/Javascript)
- Experience integrating 3rd party services
- System Administration experience for non-user facing utilities and systems
- Interest in edtech and start-ups is a plus!
