Materials needed: Different materials from around your home. Find different textures from around your home. (ie. Soft, scratchy, crinkle, pokey, rough, etc.) Set up different materials in your child’s play space and allow them to explore. Talk to your child about the different textures. If the child is verbal, ask “How does this feel?” pause, and allow them to respond. Items can be: sponges, loofah, cover of a book, a plant, pillow, etc.
